Everyone thinks good wine has to be expensive, and fortunately, that’s not always the case. There are a selection of bottles whose price (often low) doesn’t match the quality of their contents (often delicious). One of these we’re featuring is Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha. This red wine is truly extraordinary. No one understands how a wine with these characteristics can have such a price. As its name suggests, Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha is made with Garnacha, a native variety of the DO Navarra that this winery is committed to reviving, having its headquarters in this denomination, in the village of Fitero, extending its work to 40 hectares spread across other villages such as Corella, Cintru\u00e9nigo, and Lerga. Here, Vi\u00f1a Zorzal preserves an ancient vineyard, over 60 years old, located at approximately 490 meters above sea level and cultivated using organic methods. The Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha is harvested by hand and quickly transported to the winery in small crates, where the best grapes are selected. Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha is transferred to stainless steel tanks and ferments spontaneously using native yeasts. After clarification and filtration, Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha is bottled. And it’s ready! According to the winery, this is the production process followed for Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha. We don’t know if they’re keeping any secrets (every master has his own book), but what is clear is that Vi\u00f1a Zorzal Garnacha is one of the finest wines you can ever taste.
