Tasting notes

Camino de los Arrieros 2022 is a red wine with a paler, slightly rustic colour that reveals a complex, elegant character. On the nose there is ripe fruit, slightly darker than in previous years, with subtle earthy nuances that add depth without losing freshness. On the palate it is balanced and enveloping, with fine, structured tannins and a freshness that keeps the wine light and harmonious: perfect for a relaxed meal or a quiet evening, with the feeling that every sip has a personality of its own.

Out of Camino de los arrieros

Camino de los Arrieros is a red wine from DO Arribes made by Alvar de Dios Hernández. After working at several wineries, Alvar de Dios decided to start his own project, reviving his grandfather’s old vineyards in El Pego. His clear commitment to organic and biodynamic farming and classic winemaking produces fine, flavourful wines, and he has earned a place among the most respected growers in the area. Camino de los Arrieros is made from Juan García, Rufete and other varieties interplanted in a vineyard more than 50 years old on granite soils within DO Arribes. After hand harvesting, destemming and crushing, the grapes undergo a cold maceration for 24–48 hours. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 10 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
