Portia Roble is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero made by the Portia winery. Following the prevailing trend in the area, it is a single-varietal Tempranillo. The grapes for Portia Roble come from several estates at an average altitude of 820 metres – Roa, Gumiel de Mercado, Sotillo de la Ribera and Villanueva de Gumiel – managed by the winery’s team. These vineyards yield around 5,000 kilos per hectare, and the soil care, harvest and winemaking follow conventional methods, guided by years of experience. Once at the winery, the Portia Roble grapes ferment under controlled conditions at 26 degrees. Before being bottled and released, the wine rests for at least four months in French oak barrels. Portia, part of Grupo Faustino, is one of the best-known wineries in the D.O. Ribera del Duero and ranks year after year among the most visited in the region. Its buildings, designed by the renowned architect Norman Foster, attract plenty of attention.
